Yesterday started with so much gloom outside that making sugar cookies seemed to be the only way to cheer us up. After I put Logan down for his nap, Korben and I gathered the ingredients together and had a great afternoon of making sugar cookies. He was so helpful with everything and was so excited to make Halloween shapes in the dough. He chose every single cookie that we made, which took a while, but was worth the time we spent together. Korben has a hard time keeping his attention on one thing, so I was proud of him for how well he stayed on task and how long he stuck with making cookies. It was a blast!
Getting the machine ready.
"It's all ready Mom!"
Korben loved the mess that the flour made on his pants.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Korben...look at the concentration on his face.
Making a pumpkin cookie...
And getting a little leverage behind it.
"This is yummy dough!"
Almost ready for the oven.

You are so ambitious and patient. I've thought of making sugar cookies and look at all the cute cookie cutters . . that's as far as it gets. And what a great memory making activity with Korben!
What a great all-day activity spending time with your Korbenator. He looks like he is having a blast! And what a great example of service to take those cookies to other people.
I wish I was going to be able to spend Halloween with your family like we had talked about. I think tomorrow I will pull out my very few decorations to get us in the mood. I am sure Halloween will become more fun as Max grows up. Someday we will have to spend the holiday with you because I don't think we will ever do as much or have as much fun as you do.
I love seeing these normal activities. I'm missing normal right now. I'm having fun with new things but sometimes those staple, yummy, reassuring activities are so helpful. You've inspired me and we will make cookies tomorrow.
how fun. he looks like he had a really great time. you are a great mom. keep up the good work. you are always doing such fun things with your kids.
The cookies were yummy. Sorry we couldn't join you, those darn colds...
I need to do something like this with Landon. He loves to be involved in the kitchen. I will have to plan a day to just spend with him and me making some cookies and memories as you did here. Great idea and good quality time with Korben!
