The Summer Of The Movies

I just got back from Mamma Mia! I loved it so much that, yes, at 12:43am, I am blogging about it. I laughed and cried and was totally impressed with Meryl Streep. I also loved Amanda Seyfried's voice. Colin Firth had me in tears from laughter during the credits (thanks Kara for telling us to stay through them all). It was an absolutely perfect, cheesy, ridiculous, chick flick that all women should see. I can't get the ABBA songs out of my head, and I will never think of them the same way after this show. LOVED IT!

While I am on the movie track, I'm going to give a shout-out to The Dark Night. Oh My Goodness...There were so many good things about this movie - phenomenal acting, great effects, a good plot - I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and wasn't bored for one second. I consider it the best movie I have seen this summer.
The best comedy of the summer (in my opinion) goes to Get Smart. It was creative and silly, had great one-liners and kept me laughing the whole time. Steve Carell is a genius, and Anne Hathaway was perfect.

I already mentioned WALL*E in a previous blog, so I'll just mention again that it was wonderful.

Hancock: Don't bother. Language, thin plot line, mildly entertaining. It doesn't even deserve my time to look up a picture. I was bummed because I really like Will Smith. It had a lot of potential and fell way short.

I have seen more movies in theatres this year than I think in all of the last 4 years combined. I'm so glad that Hollywood is putting some decent shows out this year. It has been really fun to go to the movies again.

You get out to a lot of shows. I don't remember the last movie I went and saw in the theaters. We'll have to go to one with you and Mike sometime. Thanks for all the reviews!

I am so glad that you liked it! I wish they would get to the point that when you can walk out of the theater and buy the movie right there. I wanted to go home and watch it again.

I even plan on making James watch it. It will only be a one time thing for him and he won't love the ABBA songs like I do...but he will get such a kick out of Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnon.

Amen to the first two! Don't know about the other two, because I haven't seen them. They're probably going to be Netflix vids before we get to them. I'm glad you convinced Kath to go with you. Such a fun movie!
