Just recently, we celebrated Korben's 5th birthday!
Here are some of my favorite birthday pics:
I love this picture because he is enthusiastically telling me how old he is - 5! This is a huge accomplishment for Korben since the past 3 years he has been saying he is two. For some reason his actual age clicked this year and he is excited to tell everyone his new age.
Korben was stoked with a new Scripture Scouts set from G&G Harrison. I love these cd's because they teach the scripture stories in easy to understand and fun ways. They are all I ever get to listen to in the car so I was excited for a new set as well. :D
This picture isn't that great, but I love the memory it gives. Korben was struggling to blow out all the candles and before he got a chance to finish, Logan came over and blew 3 of the candles out. I think this would have upset a lot of kids, but true to Korben's sweet nature he just said, "Good job Logan!" and moved on. Then when licking the candles he said. "Wow, those are yummy legos!" Cute kid.
This picture is a tribute to the horrible wisdom teeth ordeal I had the weeks prior to his BDay. I still couldn't eat with real utensils very well, so I am using a baby fork to eat my cake. I also got to sport an awesome bruise on my face for nearly 2 1/2 weeks (this was when it was looking good).
We have found that Leapfrog toys/games are fantastic for Korben. He got 2 new tag books and a new Star Wars leapster game-I love his cute grins and his "serious concentration" face in these pics.

This is how I found Korben the morning after his BDay. He informed me that he was "shooting the bad boys"...it has been so great for his imaginative play. (As a side note: this castle set is normally $89.99 and after couponing I got it for a total price of $10. 26 - How's that for bargain shopping?)

Happy Birthday Korbenator - hopefully 5 is the best year yet!

Happy Birthday Korben! Sorry I missed girls night, I was so excited to get to see you but I got a bad stomach bug Monday night :( I move down to SLC next Thurs...hopefully we'll have time to get together for a playdate soon!
The Lego cakes turned out really cool! Did Korben start Kindergarten this year? That sucks that you had to have your wisdom teeth out. I'm worried that I'm going to have to have mine out soon...one is cutting through. :(
Thanks for inviting us to be there for his birthday...it was tons of fun. His Lego cake is so cute and you are amazing...when we talked earlier that day you didn't know what you were going to do for his cake and then we show up and you not only cleaned your whole house and made us all dinner but made such a cute cake (all while your teeth were hurting.) You rock!
P.S. I am so glad you live here now so that we can do all kinds of things together. :)
Wow... it's hard for me to imagine that you have a 5 year old! I mean, I know Hunter will be 4 soon, but 5 just seems so much older. I feel for you with the wisdom teeth ordeal. My dentist nicked a nerve when he took mine out, and my left cheek is still a little numb.... and they were taken out 8 years ago. The pictures are so cute. It looks like Korben had a great birthday.
Happy Birthday Korben! Landon has that same Leapster game that James got him and LOVES it. They all have that guy look that men get when they're really into something. :)
