A Realistic Goal

As you know, Mike has had to travel a little bit over the past few months. I decided that I was going to use the nights that he was gone to try and get some scrap booking done. Whenever I make the decision to scrapbook again, I get overwhelmed with how much there is to do since I am so far behind. However, I am in a good groove and, thanks to Picasa collages,
making the pages is much more efficient.

In the past, I have had aspirations to one day be caught up and only have to scrapbook the current events in our lives. However, I have never really made a specific goal of how to do it. I realize now, that if I make a longer term goal rather than stressing about being done immediately, it is much more likely that I will actually get caught up. I have separated all my pictures into folders and if I complete 10 folders a month (a folder might = more than one page), as well as keep current, I can be all caught up in six months. So taking breaks and simple old laziness into account, my goal is to be completely caught up by Christmas. I am much less stressed now that I have a realistic goal to work towards. Wish me luck!

That sounds like a great goal. I'm the same as you- I have a ton of stuff done from when I was younger, but I have nothing done that has Grant or Hunter in them. I need to get working on them as well, but I am such a procrastinator!

I have often found that simply getting organized (such as getting all the pictures in folders) helps a lot more than just going 'I need to finish.' Good luck, and beautiful pages :)

Holy Cow!!! Kara and I are drooling over your pages and jealous of you getting all of that done and we still have done NOTHING!

Your pages are AWESOME!! It looks like the collage thing really works great. I like how you did all the Christmas, Halloween pictures and it was fun to see your family grow and change through the pages. And fun to see all the different hairstyles :)

OK, so I checked out all of your pages and they look AWESOME! I'm amazed at how much you have done. You're going freaking crazy on the scrapbook pages, girl. Oh, to have some of your motivation :)

Man I'm impressed. I love it that you made your own backdrop for your first family pictures. It's really nice. Can't wait to see more.

What a great idea! I'm overwhelmed with scrapbooking because I really haven't started and I take thousands of pictures. I love the digital scrapbooking though because I have an easier time deleting pictures than throwing them away. Great job on setting a goal to get it done. Even if you don't reach the goal you've finished more than if you never started the goal in the first place. And if you reach your goal you can set a goal to just stay caught up and it isn't ever overwhelming again.
