One tooth down!

Logan has finally cut his first tooth!!! If you look VERY close, you can see it popping up on his bottom gums. He has been cranky lately, so it's good to see that there really is a reason. :)

Also, his new favorite thing to do these days is stare at himself in the mirror. So while I am getting ready in my mirror, he joins me and laughs at himself in his. It works out quite nicely. :)

Diaper Cake

One of my friends in the ward (that is also in the YW presidency with me) is going to have her baby any day now. Since she is on a temporary maternity leave from YW, we decided to do a service activity with the girls and then end it by taking a gift over to her house.

I remembered the cake that Kimber made for Kara's shower and we agreed that a diaper cake would be a fun way to give her a simple gift since she doesn't really need much more than diapers... (this is her 3rd girl). I looked at some pictures of cakes online and came up with this little pink cake for only $30 (which was mostly the dapers since they were pampers). It was fun to make and I think is going to be my standard baby shower gift in the future.

Oh so cute!

Mike and I needed to work on the yard last week, so we decided to bring Logan out with us while we worked. He had so much fun in his exersaucer and was content just to watch us. His little jacket was so cute on him that I couldn't resist getting a photo.
Isn't he darling?

Fun Run

Saturday morning, Kathy called me and asked if I wanted to run the Starlight Fun Run (a 5K through the streets of Portland) with her that night. Normally I would be all for it, but I was a little nervous considering I hadn't worked out in nearly 2 weeks. I figured this opportunity would be as good as any to get me back on track.

It wasn't just good exercise, but a lot of fun...hence the name "fun run". There is a costume contest and as it turned out, Kathy and I were the weirdos because we didn't dress up. There were so many neat costumes that I wish I had carried a camera with me for some fun photos. I took it way too seriously (I don't know what I was thinking since I knew it was called a fun run). I guess now I know for next year - I'm already planning my costume...

Here we are in all our glory after the race:

Kate...

My friend Brenda had this on her blog, so I decided to see what my name "meant":

What Kate Means
You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

For the most part I think it is pretty true.

*I hope that I'm not a snob...I try to be friendly, but I know that shyness sometimes gets the better of me and I might come across that way.

* I have been told that I am a type A personality many times. I have really tried not to be too aggressive and authoritative, but I know that sometimes my temper and bossiness can get the better of me.

*I used to be much more of the travelling, get out of town, adventuresome type of person, but I think that part of me has toned down and I am much more of a home-body these days.

*I hope that I am an "easy to get along with...brings people together" kind of person, because I like those people. :)

*I totally agree on the flaky thing...it's one of my resolutions for this year.

Granola Bars

Chocolate chip granola bars are not only good for eating; they, apparently, are good for filling belly-button holes as well...

Sitting Up

Logan started sitting up unsupported a few weeks ago. He is now a pro - which makes things much easier on me. I can't believe how fast he is growing!
