Korben has known our names for a while now, but for some reason he has started inserting our given names into everyday conversation:
1) Korben can't find Daddy and says to me, "Where is Mike Harrison?"
2) "Daddy? ... Daddy? ... Daddy?...MIKE!
3) After seeing that he needs a password to get onto my laptop: "Kate I need the password."
4) When he wanted to skype with Daddy: "Kate I want to video talk with Mike."
It is so cute that I have a hard time correcting him. It's about 50/50 right now as to whether I will be Mommy or Kate. Is this just a phase, or should I be more assertive about correcting him?

Sydney started doing this a few years ago. I always correct her, Jordan only sometimes corrects her. But now she tells me that Daddy starts with a J. =] I correct her for 2 reasons, 1) when in public I try to make sure there is NO question that I am her mother. I am not the babysitter, I am not her sister, I am her MOTHER (it really bothers me when people ask if she's my sister.) and 2) because she started scolding us using our first names, lol.
It was really cute at first when Hunter started doing this, but we felt that he needed to call us mom and dad. So therefore, we have instructed him that he calls us mom and dad, but that our names are Grant and Shelley. It helped when we've done Safety Kids to tell him that if he is lost, those are our names.
That cracks me up! I'm sure I've got it coming in a few years...
That is adorable! Landon started calling family by their first names too. James instead of Dad, Thomas instead of Uncle and I've always corrected him because my mom told me, even when I was even 12, that as a sign of love and respect you use their "title" (i.e. Aunt and Uncle). I know it sounds weird, but I've never forgotten it.
